Product Application Developer

Omaha, NE

About the Role

We are a premier provider of US business and consumer data, powering enterprise-level analytics and real-time applications via our proprietary API and research platforms. We are looking for a Front-End Java Application Developer who is passionate about turning complex data into intuitive, high-performance product experiences.

In this role, you will own the user-facing layer of our data platforms—designing and building Java-based web applications that put powerful business intelligence directly in the hands of our customers. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, product managers, and UX designers to ship features that are both technically robust and genuinely delightful to use.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Product Layer: Lead the design and development of responsive, high-performance web applications built on Java frameworks that surface our data assets to enterprise customers.
  • Drive Features End-to-End: Partner with product managers and UX designers to translate requirements into polished, production-ready UI features—from wireframe to deployment.
  • Shape the Roadmap: Participate actively in sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives, contributing both technical and product perspective.
  • Craft the User Experience: Create reusable, accessible UI components using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+) that integrate seamlessly with Java back-end services.
  • API Integration: Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs that connect front-end interfaces to our data pipelines and microservices.
  • Optimize Performance: Optimize application performance—load times, rendering, and API response handling—to ensure smooth experiences across devices and screen sizes.
  • Understand the Data: Work alongside data engineers to understand the structure and flow of our business and consumer datasets, ensuring the UI presents information accurately and usefully.
  • Leverage Our Platforms: Collaborate with the API team to consume and display data from our proprietary platforms, enabling customers to build their own workflows on top of our products.
  • Improve Continuously: Identify opportunities to improve internal tooling and developer workflows that speed up front-end delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Java Expertise: Strong proficiency in Java and experience with front-end-oriented Java frameworks such as Spring MVC, JSF, Vaadin, or GWT.
  • Web Fundamentals: Solid command of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript ; experience with React, Angular, or Vue is a significant plus.
  • API Development: Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs within a Java ecosystem.
  • UI/UX Awareness: Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility standards.
  • Product Thinking: You think in user stories, not just tickets—you understand the “why” behind each feature and push back constructively when something doesn’t serve the user.
  • Clear Communicator: Strong communicator who can bridge technical concepts and product goals across engineering, design, and business stakeholders.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Exposure to SQL or experience querying data to support UI development and troubleshooting.
  • Basic familiarity with AWS services (S3, EC2, or Lambda) as they relate to front-end hosting and deployment.
  • Understanding of how APIs surface data from ETL pipelines or data warehouses into customer-facing applications.
  • Background in software sales support or Sales Engineering—understanding customer workflows is a real advantage here.
  • Experience with CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot) or data enrichment tools.

Why Join Us

Our data powers real business decisions at enterprise scale—and the front-end applications you build will be the interface through which customers access that intelligence every day. You’ll have meaningful ownership over the product experience, collaborating with a small, focused team in a Southwest Omaha office where your work is visible and your voice matters.

We offer competitive compensation, a collaborative culture, and the opportunity to grow your product and technical skills on genuinely complex, data-rich problems.
